ANIMAL PROTECTION SOCIETY’S HOME

Sir, —Cr. J. Mathison’s statement concerning this home, at the City Council’s last meeting, should be compared with the inspectors’. None has found any fault. The inspectors have been to the home, I doubt if Cr. Mathison has. within the last six months, the period he specially mentioned. The society which has been attacked is endeavouring to restore lost dogs and cats to the owners or to secure new homes when these owners cannot be found. Through advertisements owners are given an opportunity to claim lost pets. Cr. Mathison is a member of a body which has said the home is to close. Perhaps the council intends to undertake its neglected duty?— Yours, etc., WONDERING. September 23, 1948.
