“WAR WITH U.S. INEVITABLE”
VIEW OF RUSSIAN DEPUTY-PREMIER
(Rec. 9 p.m.) NEW YORK. Sept. 23. "War between the United States and the Soviet Union is inevitable, and only the capitulation of the United States can prevent it,” says Mr Nikolai Voznessensky, a Deputy-Premier of the Soviet Union and a member of the Soviet Politburo, in a book on Soviet war economy, published in translation in New York
Mr Voznessensky also discloses that the Stalin regime demands a completely pro-Russian orientation, “unconditionally,” in the policies of the Communist Parties of the world.
He says that since the power and unity of Russia and her allies will determine whether the United States’ plans are thwarted, the Soviet is compelled to maintain her post-war economy largely as a war economy. He also asserts that the Second World War was only one of a series, and that there will be aggressive wars as long as capitalism exists.
