SCOW TAKEN IN TOW
SLOW TRIP BACK TO WELLINGTON
(P.A.) WELLINGTON. Seji. 24. Battling against exceptionallyheavy seas and high winds the disabled scow Echo, in tow by the Wellington Harbour Board’s tug Toia. made only about two knots from the time sh< was taken in tow at 7.30 a.m. until late this afternoon. The winds and seas then moderated, and in the lee of landthe ships were able to make better ban four knots.
A report by radio.-feiorhon* from the Toia about 10 p.m. estimated that be shirs should reach Baring Head abiut midnight.
