FOUR KILLED IN U.N. CONVOY
ARAB ATTACK NEAR LATRUN
LONDON, September 22. "Four persons were killed and others were wounded when a United Nations convoy travelling from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem was fired on by Arabs near the Latrun pumping station this afternoon,” says Reuter’s correspondent in Tel Aviv.
“One of those killed was Mr John Locke Lewis, an American civil engineer, who was engaged on work at Tel Aviv port. Mr Lewis was going to Jerusalem before leaving for America to-morrow. The others killpd were all Jews.
“The acting-mediator (Dr. Ralph Bunche) immediately drove from Jerusalem to Latrun to investigate the incident.”
