SOUTH CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION
The holding of A, B, and C grade competitions for men and women combined as in pre-war seasons, was fav-. oured by the annual meeting of the South Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association last evening. The new management committee was recommended to start competitions as early as possible, and to play as many matches as possible. A criticism was voiced of the practice of playing mqny club matches on Maori Park courts. This, it was said, defeated the club spirit, and it was recommended that more matches should be played on club courts.
Mr J. L. R. Mackay was elected president of the association, and Mr J. S. Satterthwaite was made a life member.
