Health Stamps.— Each of the 20 Postal districts in New Zealand has een allotted a quota of health stamps based on the sale of 3s 9d worth of stamps to each household. First-day sales last year amounted to £39.135, and the Post Office hopes that this figure will be exceeded when the 1948 issue is put on sale on October 1. Householders who require one or more sheets may place orders with their postmen for delivery on the first day of issue.
Hairdress Apprentices.— A New Zealand apprenticeship committee has been set up for the hairdressing industry, comprising the following:—Miss M. S. Martin (Wellington), Messrs W. Butler (Auckland), A. W. Croskery (Wellington). S. Hurst (Christchurch), A. L. Knowsley (Petone), C. A. Lang (Christchurch), and T. G. Petersen (Auckland)(P.A.)
