COMPETITIONS SOCIETY
ANNUAL MEETING It was hoped that the circumstances necessitating the cancellation of the competitions festival this year would never occur again, said the president of the Christchurch Competitions Society (Mr R. F. Hunter), at the annual meeting of the society last evening. If there had been an epidemic and the competitions had been held there would have been some very caustic criticism from the public, he added.
It was announced that the next festival would extend ever three weeks. Suggestions by members on the conduct of the competitions will be referred to the executive for consideration.
The following officers of the society were reappointed: president, Mr R. F. Hunter; vice-president. Mr D. G. Dickson; treasurer. Mr C. S. Thomoson; executive Messrs J. B. Williams, S. C. Andrews’ S. G, Mooar. G. H. W. Gale, and E. L Cordery. Appreciation was expressed of the work of Mr C. S. Thompson, who has for many years been treasurer of the society.
