INSURANCE POLICIES ON ROYAL TOUR
RISK OF CANCELLATION SYDNEY, September 22. Insurance policies are being taken out in Sydney against the risk of a postponement of the Royal tour next year. The underwriters say that risks are being accepted on the possibility that the tour might have to be postponed because of war, illness of members of the Royal Family, or the diversion of the battleship Vanguard to emergency duties.
“We will not accept this type of insurance as a bet,” said the local agent of Lloyd’s. “It is legitimate only if the person or firm seeking it would suffer pecuniary loss in the as yet remote event that the tour would have to be cancelled.”
