PAMIR UNDER WAY AGAIN

LIGHT WESTERLY BREEZE (P.A.) AUCKLAND, September 22. The Pamir, which has been anchored off Rakino channel for 14 hours, weighed anchor at 4 o’clock this morning. With only a light westerly, the barque madeUittle more than two knots until abreast of Cape Colville early this afternoon. She then picked up more wind, and at 7 p.m. she was abreast of Cuvier Island, whence her course was set. for East Cape. She is making five knots.

The first duty of the master. Captain H. S. Collier, after clearing the gulf to-night, was to comply with the wish of an old shipmate, Mr William Edwin Goldsmith, and scatter his ashes over the wake.of the ship. Mr Goldsmith, who was with Cantain Collier nearly 30 years ago. and later worked ashore, died in Auckland in July. He made a request in his will that his ashes be scattered at sea.
