ANIMALS PROTECTION SOCIETY HOME

Sir, —May I appeal through “The Press” to persons owning cats or dogs and wanting to get rid of them, not to take them out and dump or turn them loose, but to send them to the Animals Protection Society’s Home, Woolston. Dumping those defenceless animals is a cruel practice and also leaves one liable to prosecution for cruelty. Three instances have been reported to me recently and in each case the society has taken charge of the animals. The difficulty is tracing the culprits.—Yours, R. D. MARTIN, President. Animals Protection Society. September 22, 1948.

Sir, —We have had the occasion to place our cat in the keeping of this home, and all we can say is, the City Council should be proud of the Animals Protection Society Home in Woolston.—Yours, etc., September 22. 1948.
