4 The United Kingdom representative on the International Civil Aviation Organisation (Sir Frederick Tymms), the deputy-director of aircraft development at the Ministry of Supply (Mr K. T. Spencer) and the deputy-direc-tor of the Aerodromes division of the Ministry of Civil Aviation (Mr G. J. Warcup), all of the United Kingdom, will arrive in Christchurch on Saturday, and will stay here until next Thursday. They are the three British air experts who have been invited by the Government to advise on the administration of civil aviation and on certain problems relating to international air standards. On Monday the party will call on the Mayor (Mr E. H, Andrews), and later they will hear evidence about the Harewood Airport by members of the South Island Overseas Air Terminal Committee, headed by the chairman (Mr J. R. Dench). Mr H. D. Christie, president of the Canterbury Aero Club, leftdast evening for Wellington, where he will see the Minister of Defence (Mr F, Jones) on aero club business.
Mr Claude King, sports writer of the “Dominion,” has been appointed by the New Zealand Press Association to accompany the All Black team on its tour of South Africa next year.— (P.A.)
Mr R. Beattie was last evening reappointed the representative on the Victory Park Board of sports other than cricket and Rugby football.
