TWO WOMEN PLEAD GUILTY
t » CONCEALMENT OF BIRTH OF CHILD
(P.A.) WELLINGTON/ Sept ». Two medical orderlies, members of the W.A.A.F., were jointly charged in the Magistrate’s Court to-day with disposing of the dead body of a female child by burying it to conceal the fact that one of them was delivered of the child. The accused pleaded guilty and were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Counsel applied for the suppression of the names of the two accused. Referring to this application, SeniorDetective G. F. Callaghan said: “This.4s a serious matter. The Court has discretion, but I suggest that had ordinary care been taken one life would not have been forfeited.” The Court suppressed the names of the accused.
