WOMEN’S DOMINION TOURNAMENT

CANTERBURY AND OTAGO IN SEMI FINAL (P.A.) DUNEDIN, Sept. 1. Section play in the women’s hockey tournament at Dunedin was completed this afternoon. The semi-final for the K Cup will be played to-morrow between ‘Canterbury A and Otago (which obtained most points in its section next to the unbeaten Australian team), and the winner will meet Wellington on Friday in the final. In the minor division for the Mills Cup, section winners were Canterbury-Malvern, Eastern, and South Otago A. CanterburyMalvern drew the bye in the semi-final. Eastern and South Otago A will play tomorrow. The three section winners were unbeaten.

A trial match to help the selectors choose the New Zealand team to play Australia in the test on Saturday will be played to-morrow. Selectors will also watch the semi-final game. Canterbury made several plucky attempts to score, and the Canterbury goalkeeper (P. Blackler) made many magnificent saves. Australian scorers were C. Ash (5), M. Campbell (4), J. Wynne (2), L.
