FOOD PARCELS FOR 1500 FAMILIES
£6OO RAISED BY PEOPLE OF THAMES
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, July 22. Seven tons of food from the people of Thames will leave Auckland for England shortly. The sum of £6OO for the purchase of food was raised by donations in support of a festival week organised recently in Thames. Tinned cheese, meat, jam, malted milk, suet, dripping, and soap will be sent in bulk to lessen freight charges. The goods will be made up into parcels in England and sent to 1500 families of Abingdon-on-Thames. The families are to be selected by the Mayor of Abingdon.
