CORSO APPEAL POSTPONED
The Christchurch appeal for funds to aid China, conducted by CORSO, was postponed yesterday because of the unfavourable weather. About 400 voluntary helpers worked from 7.45 a.m. to 1 p.m., and during that time £4OO was collected. “We would have obtained three times that amount on a fine day,” said the organiser of the appeal (Mr C. V. Rawley). The City Council had given permission for the appeal to be continued on Friday, said Mr Rawley, and he asked that all collectors report at the Civic Chambers on Friday. “If those who contributed to the appeal retain their badges and wear them on Friday they will not be asked to contribute again,” he said. •
