SUMMIT ROAD

Sir, —The Junior Chamber of Commerce is to.be congratulated on the work it is undertaking on the Summit road. This letter is to ask if anything can be done to make the road better for pedestrians. In places the broken metal has worked to the sides, and if motor traffic is heavy, as it is on Sundays, walking is very unpleasant. Walking towards Evans Pass and hugging the bluffs, it is very awkward to meet an observation bus coming round a sharp bend; and keeping close in to the side, the walker feels he has nowhere to call hi§ own.— Yours, etc., F.H. July 18, 1948.
