UNITED NATIONS’ ASSOCIATION

The Christchurch branch of the United Nations Association, which was formed at the end of last year, now has a membership of more than 90. This was announced last night at a meeting of the branch by the president (Professor I. L. G. Sutherland). The branch proposes to form immediately working groups to advance the objects of the association. They will include a schools and youth group to organise junior branches and to interest young persons in the United Nations; a women’s organisation group, a public information group which will publicise the work of the United Nations thrbugh talks, articles, broadcasts, and films, a study group, and an international activities group, which will undertake practical work of an international nature.
