PRICE OF A SUIT

Sir, —To-day I called for a suit which is being tailored for me by one of the leading stores of this city. I have called several times, and although this suit is finished, I cannot take possession until the Price Tribunal fixes a price. This has been going on for about three weeks. Does it take so long to work out a price for selling goods? A tailor of repute I know told me he could give me the price in less than half an hour on an accountancy form. Why this hideous delay? Surely it is not production at fault, but bungling, inefficient controls.— Yours, etc.. ' BARE-BACK. July 16, 1948. * r[“All tailors have been given a formula for arriving at their prices, which can be computed in a few minutes,” said the officer in charge of the Price Tribunal, Christchurch (Mr A. B. McLachlan!. “The correct price of the suit in question will be given by this office on application.”]
