Scott’s total of £57,562 this season sets a new sire’s record for the Dominion, says the ‘‘New Zealand Trotting Calendar.” The previous record total was Jack Potts’s £53,806 10s,- in the 1945-46 season. The progeny of Dillon Hall have won 114 races this season, a total that falls 18 short of the record of 132 established by the progeny of Jack Potts in the 1941*42 season. Rhodes’s two-year-old filly by Light Brigade from Princess Gaillard in action rate her as one of the most promising young trotters seen out in recent years. Her dam, Princess Gaillard, which was bred at Riccarton by Free Holmes, is by Gaillard from Wild Princess, the dam Jf winners in Princess de Oro and Royal Grattan. Cuff, is by Rey de Oro from Regina Logan, the dam of a large family of winners including Regina Derby, Pola Negri, Southern Smile, volorna, Southern Chief, Southland, and Walter Moore.

Miss Cuff’s team at Hinds includes a promising four-year-old gelding in Luck Ahead, which is by the Australian-bred Brilliant Globe from Regina Logan, by Logan Pointer from Regina de Oro, by Copa de Oro from Regina Belle, by Bellman from Regina, by Berlin.
