SMALL DECLINE IN BUILDING
INCREASE IN SOME WARDS CITY FIGURES FOR FIRST QUARTER A marked increase in St. Albans is the chief feature of building permits issued by the Christchurch City Council in June. The central inner area, Linwood, and Sumner also show increases, but other wards show decreases contributing to an all-over decline on figures for June last year. Returns for three months also show an easing in building activity, although more permits were issued than in the first quarter of last year. The following table gives the number and* value of permits issued in each ward:—
