ELECTRICITY SUPPLY
Si£, —On the above subject your correspondent “Engineer” seems concerned about supplying electricity to new houses. Apparently he is satisfied that so long as he has supply and can waste power on extravagant 24-hour water-heating supply, he is entitled to deny supply to others. I suppose that because coal and gas are also in short supply these should also not be allowed? I would like to remind “Engineer” that electricity is a public undertaking, for which everyone is liable, and therefore equally entitled to his share of supply. It was not obtained so that “Engineer” could enjoy his fat salary and liberal supply, while denying even reasonable supply to others.—Yours, etc., WIRE BUSTER. July 16, 1948.
