MILK-IN-SCHOOLS SCHEME
“FREE ISSUE WILL NOT BE CUT OUT ” WELLINGTON, July 16. Recent discussions in Christchurch on the milk-in-schools scheme had included suggestions that the whole plan be abolished, said the Minister of Education (Mr T. H. McCombs) in the House of Representatives to-day. “The free milk issue will not be cut out by this Government,” said Mr McCombs, who said that the service did a great deal to remove causes of malnutrition in school children.
