This had already been suggested to him by the commission, said Captain S. Holm, of Wellington. The trouble started with the refusal of New Plymouth watersiders to work overtime on Holm ships because of a dispute concerning overtime pay lodged against the Holm Company on June 1. This culminated in the withdrawal of Holm vessels from the New Plymouth trade.—(P.A.)
