LINWOOD SALVATION ARMY CORPS
DIAMOND JUBILEE The diamond jubilee celebrations of the Linwood Corps of the Salvation Army are to begin on Saturday, July 24. The Corps was opened on September 5, 1888, and since then has been interested in youth work in the district. The celebrations will be spread over a period of nine days, and will include a musical festival on the evening of Monday. July 26, in which the Christchurch City and Linwood Silver Bands and the Sydenham and Linwood songster brigades will take part. The festival will be held in the Linwood Citadel.
