TUBERCULOSIS ASSOCIATION
HOUSING PROBLEMS DISCUSSED Eighteen applications for help from former patients at the Cashmere Sanatorium, or from their dependants, were dealt with by the’after-care sub-com-mittee of the Tuberculosis Association, and the action of the sub-committee in each case was endorsed at a meeting of the executive of the association lust, evening. Dir. W. Gordop Rich (presindent) presided, and gave a resume of business transacted at a meeting of the Federation of Tuberculosis Associations held in Wellington on Wednesday. The Tuberculosis Bill was discussed at some lengths and some additions were suggested by members. The Siuestion of providing/ houses for ormer patients of the-Sanatorium or for persons suffering from tuberculosis was still the association’s major problem, it was reported, and little progress was being made in this direction. Many sufferers were at present unsuitably housed. It was reported that tuberculosis associations had recently been formed in Wairoa (Hawke’s Bay) and Dunedin.
