RED CROSS SOCIETY

HALSWELL SUB-CENTRE A very successful flower show held in the Halswell Hall was opened by Lady Wigram. An effective stage display was made by the Horticultural Department of Lincoln College. The Halswell sub-centre of the Red Cross Society benefited by the show to the extent of £4O. The prize-winners were as follows:—most points, Mrs D. White; decorative section. Mrs A. Parlane; vegetable section, Mrs Silvester; cut flower section, Mrs D. White; preserves, Mrs E. McDermott; handwork, Miss M. Harrison; premier bloom. Mrs D. White; outstanding decoration (Mrs Lake’s special prize). Mrs A. Parlane; special flower, not specified (Mr Humin’s special prize), Miss Carter.
