ARTIFICIAL RAIN
INVESTIGATION WANTED BY HUTT VALLEY POWER BOARD (P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 19. A resolution asking the Minister of Works (Mr R. Semple) to consult with the Air Force and scientific research advisers about the practicability of making artificial rain in lake areas has been passed -by the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board. Mr S. Blackley, who moved the resolution, said the reduced level of Lakes Taupo and Waikaremoana were further limiting the generation of electricity. He Would like to see overseas experiments in rainmaking tested in the lakes area.
