POWER CUTS IN AUCKLAND

BAN ON USE OF ALL RADIATORS

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, March 16. Prohibition on the use of domestic and commercial electnc storage water heaters of more than three gallons capacity between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily in the Auckland Electric Power Board’s district will come into force to-morrow. Until further notice water heaters may be used only for 12 hours during the night. The restriction will remain in force during the week-ends. Hotels and boardinghouses are not exempted from the prohibition, as they were by the Government from restrictions last year. The only exemptions are for water heaters used m farming and the dairying industry (excluding domestic heaters in farm houses), in hospitals, and the consulting rooms of meoical, dental, or veterinary surgeons, restaurants, dairies or milk bars, and industrial process work. A total prohibition has been placed on the use of electric radiators.
