AMENDMENT TO BILL FOR ANNUITIES (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, January 12. An -amendment to the bill to provide annuities for Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgn. proposed by Mr R. Chamberlain (Labour), will be the first, subject for debate when the House of Commons resumes on January 20, says the Parliamentary correspondent of “The Times.” Mr Chamberlain will propose that they should receive a fixed annuity of £5OOO each for private personal expenditure, and that the balance of the sums recently voted by the House of Commons should be used to defray exnenditure necessary for their Royal obligations as certified bv the Treasurer of the Household. The bill provides for a total of £40.000 a year for Princess Elizabeth and £lO,OOO for the Duke.
