WORKERS RETURN TO MINES
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, January 12. Although all the miners had not returned to the collieries at Huntly when work was resumed to-day after the week-end. attendances had improved considerably compared with the situation on Thursday when the mines reopened after three weeks’ holiday, and only about one-third of the men returned to work.
The Renown Mine reported a full muster to-day and the position was almost back to normal at most of the other mines, although only two-thirds of the men reported for work at the Glen Afton and Macdonald collieries.
