Other periods will involve recapitulatory listening to develop appreciation. “Tales that are told” on Tuesdays will feature great , stories in English literature from the Anglo-Saxon “Beowulf” to modern authors. Items will be dramatised.

“New Zealand in the Making,” on Tuesdays, will include “secrets of the rocks, animal life before the Maoris came, man comes to New Zealand, and young emigrants.” On Wednesdays there will be stories and rhythm for infants and juniors. A modern travel series, “Journey from England,” will trace the voyage of an English family to New Zealand, describing their ports of call, countries and peoples seen, and notes on occupations and ways of life.
