WESTERN GERMAN ZONES
Terms of Revised Merger AMERICAN READING DISPUTED ». (Rec. 7 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Dec. 10. British sources to-day said that the United States Secretary of the Army <Mr Kenneth Roy all) had gone too far in claiming that the United States would have a controlling word in the economic and financial policies of the British and United States zones in Germany under the tentative merger agreement worked out between United Kingdom and United States officials here. They insisted that such majority American control would relate only to the export and import trade policies of the occupied area, and would not affect in any way other economic and financial matters, which would continue to be decided on a strictly bipartisan and “50-50” basis.
