GOVERNMENT POLICY APPROVED LONDON, December 10. "The Belgian Chamber of Deputies, after a stormy debate, gave the Government a strong vote of confidence , on its method of dealing with the controversial issue of the monarchy,’ says the Brussels correspondent of the British United Press. “The session was suspended for half an hour after a scuffle among some of the deputies. “The Prime Minister (Mr Spaak) emphasised that the problem was not one of King Leopold’s honour; it was a Political problem. King _ Leopold had misinterpreted the Belgian Constitution during the war, and had understood ‘otherwise than we did, his duties towards the Allies.’ “The Government, if given a vote of confidence, would try to find a formula which would allow negotiations with King Leopold to continue.

TRAVEL BETWEEN U.S. AND RUSSIA LIMITATION sought by SENATOR (Bee. 8 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Dec. 10. A resolution proposing that the United States should limit visits by Russians to the number of Americans the Soviet is willing to receive was introduced in the Senate to-day by Senator Styles Bridges. The “gross inequality” of access to information and freedom of travel between the two countries had been brought to his attention, he said, when Moscow declined to issue visas last summer for a Senate committee to Russia. , The resolution would require action by the Secretary of State, within 30 nays after its approval by both Houses of Congress, to cancel visas now outstanding to the extent that they exceed the number issued to Americans by Moscow. It would extend the same I meatmen t to any other country which the President determined is controlled °r dominated by Russia.
