CHRISTCHURCH BRANCH OF RIFLE BRIGADE
A Christchurch branch of the New Zealand Rifle Brigade was set up at a meeting held in the rooms of the Christchurch Returned Services’ Association this week. This step was taken at the request of Colonel R. Beere, of Wellington, chairman of the provisional committee of the brigade. The following officers were elected: president, Mr J. K. Moloney; vicepresident, Mr R. Beattie; honorary secretary-treasurer, Mr E. J. Stock; committee, Messrs W. A. Ford, C. J. Henty. Neil Ramsay, D. H. Crooks. J. G. Greenwood, and C. A. Tucker. It was decided to affiliate with ' the national federation, and details of the next annual rifle brigade convention to be held in Auckland on May 29 next year were discussed.
Dux Medals Awarded.— Dux medals at the Christchurch East School have been awarded to Marion B. Francis and Norman Sheppard.
