LAMBING FIGURES AT LINCOLN
AVERAGE OF 123.5 PER CENT. The lambing percentage of Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln, was 123.5 —well above the average—it was reported to the Board of Governors yesterday morning. On the Ashley Dene property the figure was 120 per cent. The following returns for various breeds were tabled:—Romneys, ewes mated 193, lambs tailed 243. 126 per cent.; Southdowns. 181. 182, 100 per cent.; Corriedales. 171, 218, 127.5 pea cent.: Border Leicesters. 76. 128, 168 per cent.; English Leicesters. 30, 33, 110 per cent. The board expressed pleasure at the outstanding success of the college entnes in the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s ' South Island show.
