Whisky Prices Increased.— The Scotch Whisky Association has increased the retail price of whisky from £1 5s 9d to £1 Ils a bottle. The association stated: “The new tax equals a fraction over 22s 3d a bottle, compared with the old figure of 18§ 4±d. Increased costs in all directions have necessitated an increase in price beyond the actual additional duty.” Nips will cost 3d to 6c more.—London, NoV ember 18. Industry in Russia. — The Moscow weekly newspaper “New Times” accuses the foreign press of making •‘thoughtless and useless attempts to dispute the unarguable facts about the growth of Russian industry.” The foreign press was saying that Russia had not the industrial power needed to make the atomic bomb. “How many times can the reactionaries, bom blind, make such a mistake?” it asked.
