Sir Joseph and Lady Ward, of Christchurch, arrived at Auckland yesterday on the Port Phillip from London.—(P.A.) Dr. C. Gresson. assistant medical ’ superintendent of the Christchurch ‘ Hospital, will resign at the end of this month to go to Britain for further study. Tributes to his work were paid bv members of the North Canterbury Hospital Board yesterday. Dr. D- . Thomson, of Stanhope. England, was appointed to the position. Dr. N. Godfrey, of the staff of the Ashburton Hospital, has been aP' Pomted junior assistant-pathologist at ; the Christchurch Hospital. Dr. George Rolleston. assistant radiologist at the Christchurch Hospital has been appointed director of radiology to succeed Dr. Neil Guthrie, who will retire in March. The vacancy for an assistant will be advertised in New Zealand and overseas. Mr T. R. N. Lothian, senior instructor m horticulture at Lincoln Agricultural College, left yesterday to take • up his new position as director of the ’ Botanic Gardens, Adelaide, Australia. Mr Lothian was accompanied by hi® family. Dr. H. R. Donald, of Manchester, haf appointed senior medical officer 1 at the Christchurch Hospital.
