BUTTER RATIONING
Sir,—With regard to the rationing of butter, I would like to protest at the midget allowance made to and endured by families where there are growing children. If lunches for school have to be made, as is so often the case, the position becomes increasingly acute, and housewives, afraid to use the smallest scrap for baking, have to waste time and money at the nearest cakte-shop, with its exorbitant prices I think, if Dr. Muriel Bell were to examine the position in a typical city home, where restaurant meals (butter savers) are prohibitive, and see for herself the scraping off of butter to make the ration last, she would be the first to revise the allowance.—Yourg. etc.. x ALL FOUR COUPONS. October 28. 1947.
