MAYORALTY OF GREYMOUTH
MR F. L. TURLEY NOMINATED There has been a surprise nomination for the Grey mouth Mayoralty, that ot Mr F. L. Turley, secretary of the Westland Timber Workers’ Union, who. as an Independent, will oppose the Citizens' Committee candidate. Mr F. F. Boustridge. Mr Turley has previously contested the Mayoralty and is a former member of Greymouth local bodies. He is also a member of the Canterbury Education Board and chairman of the Greymouth Technical High School Board of Governors. He previously stood for Parliament. When the Labour Party did not nominate a candidate it was thought that Mr Boustridge. who is a sitting member of the council, would succeed the retiring Mayor (Mr F. A. Kitchingham) without a content.
