AUSTRALIANS’ VISIT N.Z. AND ISLAND TEAMS CHOSEN (P.A.) WELLINGTON, October 7. The New Zealand Golf Council has selected the following teams to meet the Australian players on their tour of New Zealand:— New Zealand team, at Heretaunga on October 31 and November I.—R. H. Glading (Titirangi), W. G. Horne (Wellington), B. M. Silk (Wanganui), D. L. Woon (Waitikiri), and D. H. Graham (Wellington). Silk will be captain. South Island, at Shirley.—C. J. Ward (Christchurch), A. H. Boyd (Otago), A. Gibbs (Otago), J. L. Blair (Christchurch), G. A. Ussher (Timaru). Ward will be captain. North Island, at Rotorua.—A. R. Kitto (Wanganui), J. Pelham (Auckland),' G. P. Roberts (Hutt), J. P« Hornabrook (Paraparaumu), and W. B. Reilly (Hutt). Roberts will be captain. If Graham is not required to play for the New Zealand team he will take No. 1 place in the North Island team. Anticipating that tjie Australians might elect to play five men in the singles matches, the Golf Council has chosen five players for each match.
