LAUNCH STOLEN AT NELSON
(P.A.) NELSON, October 7. The 40-fqpt cruiser launch Maristella, owned by Mr H. Dimock, of Nelson, was stolen from its moorings in the harbour last nignt. Several residents of the port heard an engine being started up in the part of the harbour occupied by pleasure craft at 1 o’clock this morning. Inquiries are being made by the police. It was a stormy day in Tasman Bay to-day, with a strong northerly, a low ceiling, and fog. making search by air useless. Mr Dimock had intended to leave Nelson this morning in the launch on a business trip to Golden Bay. The launch, which is powered by an 110 horse-power Diesel, carried sufficient fuel for a 200-mlle cruise.
