ARAB READINESS TO FIGHT
SUPPORT FOR THOSE IN PALESTINE
PREVENTING “ ZIONIST DICTATORSHIP ” (Ree. 8 p.m.) CAIRO, October 4. The Arab Government would permit volunteer, armies to move freely into Palestine if Palestine Arabs were forced to become “subjects of a Jewish State,” said the secretary-general of the Arab League (Azzam Pasha). The Arab nations would not leave the Zionist minority free to create a dictatorship to dominate the Arab majority. •’The effort of international Zionism to put 500,000 Arab people under Zionist domination is absolutely immoral. We have a right to fight it,” said Azzam Pasha. He added that the Jewish Haganah’s tanks, armoured cars, guns, and bombs would crush the Palestine Arabs if they fougnt alone. The Haganah had obtained arms easily with Zionism’s contributions of millions of dollars, some of which in effect came from the United States Government because the contributors had avoided higher income tax by their donations to Jewish relief. ( “We do not want a clash,’* said Azzam Pasha. “We do not want to kill Jews. We are, however, facing an aggressive imperialist who is fixed on the idea of force.” The Arab League’s political committee recently decided to help the Palestine Arabs with manpower, money, and arms.
