SYDNEY TEAM WINS AT AUCKLAND

GOOD DISPLAY BY VISITING BACKS

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, October 5. The speed of the Balmain Rugby League team’s backs was a decisive feature of the game in which the Sydney champion team

beat Mount Albert, the Auckland champion team, by 16 points fo 11 on Saturday afternoon. The Mount Albert players failed to tackle effectively on defence, and this failing allowed the Balmain backs to show their ability to its fullest advantage. The star of the match was the 19-year-old Balmain wing three-quarters, R. Lulham, who scored three tries. In spite of an injury received early in the game. Lulham gave an outstanding display of fast, determined running. His ability to prop with either foqt while running at speed made him most elusive. Lulham (3) and Spencer scored tries for Balmain, one of which was converted by Jorgenson, who also kicked a penaltv goal. For Mount Albert, Nurse, Austin, and R. Cranch scored tries, of which A. Kay converted one.
