BEACH RACES AT SPENCERVILLE
Considering the heavy condition of the beach, some excellent times were recorded in the first series of beach races held by the Canterbury Car Club at SpehcCryiHe or. Saturday. J. Hamilton, from Mackenzie, Lake Tekapo, passed the winning post at close on 100 miles an hour to win the main event of the day, the 15-mile handicap for cars in the 1500 c.c. and over class.
The results were as follow: 900 c.c. to 1500 c.c. Class, nine miles.— G. J. Parker (scr), llmin 12sec, 1; H. Logan (65sec), llmin 2sec, 2; R. Symonds (llOsec), lOmin 18 2-ssec, 3. second Race, 15 miles.—O. Hawkins (170 sec), 15min 35 2-ssec, Ir F. Thomson (POsec), 18min 2 3-ssec, 2; G. J.
