LEADER OF PEASANT PARTY
CHARGE OF WORKING FOR . FOREIGN STATE
(Rec. 7 p.m.) BELGRADE, Oct. 2 The leader of the Peasant Party, Mr Dragoljub Yovanovic, who is being tried on charges of working for a foreign government, said when the indictment was read before the commencement of the trial to-day. that it was the first time he had heard the charge that the British press attache in Belgrade (Mr Stephen Clissold) had given instructions for the formation of a ‘‘peasant block.” He added that not once had the question of an instruction from Mr Clissold been mentioned during four months and a half of interrogation. Mr Yovanovic insisted that the “peasant block” was his own idea.
