ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY AWARD
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, October 2. R. D. Adams, a student at Wellington College, has been awarded the Murray Geddes Memorial Prize for 1947 by the council of lhe Royal Astronomical Society of New Zealand. Practically all his work has been carried out at the Wellington College observatory, which possesses one of the finest sin Zeiss equatorial refracting telescopes in the Dominion. Adams had observed eclipses, occultations, and made projection drawings of Sunspots, and done a little work in photography.
