"WEEKLY REVIEW"

Sir,—As an English bride I find the “Weekly Review” films extremely interesting, and a great help in learning about this very lovely country and her people. I wonder if this idea has occurred to any of the Aid to Britain committees. Since Britain cannot afford to import shorts and feature films from America on the previous scales, why not send back numbers of the “Weekly Review” home? They would give the people there a better idea of New Zealand and her industries and people, and would also give intending immigrants a better idea of what to expect. This would help sell the cinema programmes and save, if only a few, of the very precious dollars. In closing I would like to say how happy I am in New Zealand. The kindness and generosity I have been shown has more than helped to soften the blow of parting with my own dear family.—Yours, etc., ANN DAVIDSON. ! Murchison, September 28, 1947.
