MANUAL TELEPHONE SERVICE
NON-ARRIVAL OF EQUIPMENT DELAYS OPENING It will be about three weeks before the new manual switchboard in the Chief Post Office telephone exchange in Christchurch will be cut into the telephone system. It was intended that the service should start yesterday, but several items of switchboard equipment did not arrive. More than 200 manual telephones have been installed in residences of subscribers to be connected to the manual switchboard.
