ARRANGEMENTS FOR CHRISTCHURCH
The seventh series of ration books will be issued in Christchurch from October 13, and for a fortnight from that date staff from the Chief Post Office will work in the Wentworth, Hereford street.
As there is no form for renewal in the present ration books, an application form will have to be filled out for each person, but any one member of a family can complete the forms for a whole family. Current ration books must be presented when application is made.
The special office at the Wentworth will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday, and on October 24 it will open also between 7 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. Ration books may also be obtained at suburban post offices, but only between 7 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Application forms will be available at aU the offices.
No supplementary ration books, for nursing and expectant mothers will be issued this year, but holders of the current supplementary books will retain them as the clothing coupons may be used until the end of the year. Present holders of the supplementary books will receive special butter coupons for the next quarter year, and a new egg coupon sheet will be issued to those persons who hold one at present.
