CONTROL OF CAMPING GROUNDS
COUNCIL TO ADOPT REGULATIONS
The application of camping ground regulations to Christchurch to enable the City Council to exercise control over privately owned camping grounds in the city was decided on by the council at its meeting this week. A suggestion that this should be done was made by the district inspector of the Health Department, who said there would be a great demand for camping grounds in and about Christchurch during the Centennial Exhibition. The Town Clerk (Mr H. S. Feast) reported that the regulations provided for the minimum requirements of sanitary and ablution facilities as well as a minimum area to be made available for each camper. Some control over camping grounds would be desirable during the exhibition period.
